The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to extend the deadline for submission of application forms for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2024). This extension offers a lifeline to those who have not yet registered for the undergraduate entrance test, granting them the opportunity to do so until March 31, 2024. The submission window will remain open until 9:50 PM on the last day, allowing applicants to complete their forms conveniently.

The announcement of this extension came from UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar. He posted on X (formerly Twitter) "The deadline for online submission of the application form for the CUET-UG – 2024 has been extended to 31 March 2024 (Up to 09:50 P.M.)," stated Kumar, directing potential candidates and stakeholders to the official NTA website for any further updates.

Scheduled to take place from May 15 to 31, the CUET UG 2024 examination will be conducted in a hybrid mode across various shifts per day. The results of the examination are expected to be declared on June 30, marking a crucial milestone in the academic journey of countless aspirants across the country.

Launched in 2022, the Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate), commonly known as CUET (UG), presents an equal platform for students aspiring to secure admission to Central Universities (CUs) and other participating institutions. These institutions encompass a wide spectrum, ranging from state universities to deemed universities and private institutions nationwide.

The examination, designed to be inclusive, will be conducted in 13 languages, catering to linguistic diversity across the nation and beyond. With examination centers spanning 380 cities, including 26 abroad, CUET UG 2024 promises accessibility to candidates irrespective of their geographical location.

Unlike before, where candidates could opt for up to 10 subjects, the latest guidelines allow a maximum of six subjects to be chosen. This streamlined approach aims to enhance focus and clarity for candidates, ensuring a more efficient examination experience.

Furthermore, the choices available to candidates are extensive, with 33 languages and 27 subjects on offer. Each candidate has the flexibility to select subjects or languages according to the requirements of their desired university or institution. Within this framework, candidates are tasked with attempting a total of 40 questions out of 50 in each language, across three distinct sections.

With the extended deadline, prospective applicants have been granted a crucial window of opportunity to finalize their registrations for the CUET UG 2024.
