In many ways, digital media gives leadership to society. As a result, the society's ideology is greatly influenced, both positively and negatively. Media should also be a motivator so that society and governments can get inspiration and guidance.
To carry this idea forward, as well as to inspire and encourage other institutions, Progressive Agri Leadership Summit 2021 was conducted today at Paramar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
This Summit was organized by Krishi Udyami Krishak Vikas Chamber, Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry & The Sikkim State Cooperative Supply & marketing Federation Ltd.
The event was graced by Parshottam Rupala, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, who was also the chief guest for the event.
Virender Kanwar, Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, Himachal Pradesh, Jai Prakash Dalal, Minister of Agriculture, Dairy Development & Fisheries, Haryana and Randeep Singh Nabha, Minister of Agriculture & Farmer welfare Food Processing, Punjab were also present in the Krishi Udyami Krishak Ratna Puraskar.
In this Summit 43 awards were distributed under different categories. Among these categories was ‘Farmer Producer Organization’.
FPO stands for Farmer Producer Organizations. FPO is an organization, where the members are farmers itself. Farmers Producers Organization provides end-to-end support and services to the small farmers, and cover technical services, marketing, processing, and others aspects of cultivation inputs.
The idea behind the Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) was that “Farmers, who are the producers of their agricultural products, can form the groups and can register themselves under the Indian Companies Act”.
The main aim of the Farmer Producer Organization is to ensure a better income for the producers through an organization of their own.
