The National Education Society for Tribal Students, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), will host the National EMRS Cultural Fest from October 31st to November 2nd, 2022 in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS) will hold the event at the Art of Living International Centre. Around 1500 Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) pupils from throughout the country will take part in the three-day grand cultural festival.

Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) is a project run by the Government of India to build model residential schools for Indian tribals (ST, Scheduled Tribes) throughout India. It is one of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs' major initiatives, and it was launched in 1997-98 to guarantee tribal kids had access to quality education in distant tribal communities.

Every year, the Ministry organizes EMRS Cultural Fests and Sports Meets to offer tribal students with a national platform to demonstrate their latent abilities in several sectors. This three-day event is extremely important for NESTS because it is the organization's first year hosting the mega-event and the Ministry's third.

The event will provide impetus to the overall development of tribal students pursuing education in EMRSs, in keeping with the spirit of the Government of India's Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat initiative, which promotes long-term cultural connections and celebrates unity in diversity through national integration.

Children from poor farmers in distant places, as well as children whose previous parents committed suicide owing to debt payment defaults, attend these tribal schools. Throughout the world, tribal education has made a significant difference in the lives of children living in rural and tribal places.
