  • Farmers Protesting in Maharashtra Agree to Meet CM and Deputy CM in Mumbai Today

    The Assam government has earned Rs 1.51 crore from an agriculture project in Gorukhuti, the site of an eviction drive, against an allocation of Rs 16.1 crore over two years, according to information presented to the state Assembly on Wednesday. In response to a question from Congress MLA Abdur Rahim Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora stated that Rs 6.5 crore has been set aside for the Gorukhuti Multipurpose Agriculture Project in 2022-23.

     

  • Technology Commodification to Strengthen Kerala’s Startup Ecosystem: Says Experts at Startup Conclave

    Identifying and commodifying technologies that have the potential to grow into high-quality startups will bolster Kerala’s startup ecosystem, experts said at a ‘Startup Conclave’, organized by CSIR-NIIST in association with Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). “Though India is the third largest startup ecosystem in the world with respect to the number of startups, the country lags behind in creating impactful startups. So, it is significant to identify and commodify technologies that have high potential to grow into a non-linear enterprise,” said Dr. Saji Gopinath, Vice Chancellor, Digital University Kerala, while inaugurating the conclave, organized as part of ‘One Week One Lab (OWOL)’ programme that began on Monday.

     

  • Haryana Govt Plans to Set up 6 Veterinary Polyclinics for Care & Protection of Cattle

    Haryana's government plans to build six veterinary polyclinics to care for and protect cattle in gaushalas, according to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. "In our culture, cows have religious significance. The cow has been given the status of the mother in religious texts," Khattar said on Monday at the closing ceremony of the Haryana Livestock Exhibition- 2023 in Charkhi Dadri, where one of the proposed polyclinics will be built.

     

  • ICAR & World Bank to Hold International Conference Under NAHEP Project from March 21

    The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the World Bank together have announced the first international conference on ‘Blended Learning Ecosystem for Higher Education in Agriculture’ in India under the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in agriculture.

     

  • Govt to Purchase 1.5 MT of Mustard as Prices Fall Below MSP

    With mustard mandi prices dropping below the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 5,450/quintal after being far above the threshold for more than two years, the government has decided to purchase 1.5 million tonne (MT) of the oilseed from farmers in Rajasthan, the country's largest producer. According to sources, the Rajasthan state co-operative marketing federation (Rajfed) will likely purchase mustard at MSP beginning April 1 under the agriculture ministry's price support scheme for oilseeds.
