  • IMD: Cold Wave To Sweep Delhi, Haryana & Punjab In Next 2 Days

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD has predicted a cold wave condition over, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan during the next two days. It may abate after that. The fresh active western disturbance will affect the Northwest India from January 21, 2022, IMD further predicted. Meanwhile, the national capital witnessed a minimum temperature of 8 degree Celsius at 7 am, while the maximum temperature is expected to touch 16 degrees Celsius.

  • Govt Plans 19 billion Fertilizer Subsidy in Union Budget FY23

    According to persons familiar with the situation, India is likely to set aside roughly $19 billion in the Union Budget 2022 to compensate fertilizer businesses for selling their products to farmers at below-market pricing. Due to rising raw material costs, the finance ministry has penciled in Rs 1.4 lakh crore ($18.8 billion) as fertilizer subsidy in the budget due February 1, up from Rs 1.3 lakh crore in the year ending March 31, the sources said, requesting anonymity because the information is not public. The debate is still ongoing, and a final decision has yet to be made.

  • Rice Traders of India Stop New Export Deals

    According to industry officials, over a third of India's rice exports for this month are stalled due to a freight train shortage, and most traders have avoided signing February export contracts to avoid demurrage penalties. The slowdown in the exports from India, the world’s largest rice exporters, has allowed the rival suppliers such as Myanmar, Thailand & Vietnam to increase the overseas sales at higher prices. Slowing the exports could force the India government to increase the procurement from the farmers.
