Farmers to Get Relief of Rs 32000/hectare for Crop Loss Due to Hailstorm & Rains: MP CM
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on March 21 that farmers will be paid Rs 32,000 per hectare for crop losses of more than 50% due to hailstorms and untimely rainfall in the state. CM Chouhan further stated that the amount of crop insurance programme would be handed to farmers individually. He also told the officials that horticulture crops should be included in the study.

Israel Ambassador Donates Drip Irrigation System to Children’s Park in Delhi
On the occasion of World Water Day, Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Gilon donated & launched a drip irrigation system at India Gate's Children's Park in New Delhi today. Israel Ambassador Gilon remarked during the inauguration of the irrigation system that it was designed in Israel and is one of the greatest ways to preserve water. "We want to implement drip irrigation in all gardens soon. This is a continuous project that will only grow in size. This is one of the most effective strategies to conserve water. It originated in Israel. In terms of water management, Israel is a world leader. Israel reuses 90% of its water for agriculture," Gilon explained.

On the first day of Kisan Mela on March 24, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will honour seven progressive farmers for their achievements in agriculture and allied enterprises. Jatinder Singh, a resident of Munda village in Tarn Taran, will be honoured with the "Chief Minister Award" for agricultural excellence. On 100 acres, he cultivates wheat, beetroot, cauliflower, mustard, and berseem during the Rabi season, and paddy, maize, and basmati during the Kharif season.

Kamlesh Patel (Padma Bhushan), President of the Ram Chandra Mission in Hyderabad, was honoured by Union Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal.

At the Water Sustainability Awards (WSA), held on the eve of World Water Day in New Delhi, government authorities and experts emphasized the importance of sustainable water use and the vital need for technical advancements for its successful management. "We need a large strategy on water storage - both on the surface and under our feet," Debashree Mukherjee, Special Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti, said, observing that essential methods were needed to address the issues faced by the water industry. "How can we optimise storage such that we have it when and where we need it?"
