  • IMD Predicts Thunderstorms Along With Moderate Rains In Tamil Nadu

    On 26th November (Friday), the India Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms along with moderate rainfall & isolated heavy rains in different parts of Tamil Nadu, Karaikal & Puducherry in the hours. IMD Chennai said that the thunderstorms with the moderate rain with isolated heavy rains are likely to occur over the Villupuram, Chengalpattu & Kallakuruchi. Further mentioned that the thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are likely to occur over Tiruvallur, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, Karaikal area in the next hours.

  • Tomato Price Continue To Rise for Next 45 to 50 Days

    The price of tomatoes has increased by 142% on year in November, will continue to rise for another 45 to 50 days, says CRISIL Research. States such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, & Maharashtra are the key suppliers of tomatoes during the month of October to December. However, excess rains in these regions have damaged the standing crops & thereby reduced the supply.

  • Nitin Gadkari: Farmers Should Turn To Ethanol Production

    Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that farmers should turn to ethanol production instead of growing conventional crops as this will improve the profitability & provide green fuel to the country. The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highway said that the country currently spends Rs 8 lakh crore per year on fuel import & the expenditure is likely to go up to Rs 25 lakh crore in the future.
