The biggest advantage of this scheme is that the account holders are given accident insurance of Rs 1,00,000 and general insurance of Rs 30,000. If the account holder faces accident, then he is given Rs. 30,000 and if he dies in it, then one lakh rupees is given. That is, a total benefit of 1.30 lakh rupees is given to the beneficiary.
Eligibility for opening PM Jan Dhan Yojana Account
PMJDY account can be opened under following conditions;

Individuals with Indian nationality status can open a Jan Dhan Yojana account.

An individual with no valid documents as proof for Indian nationality status can also open PMJDY account, provided the concerned bank does necessary background check on the individual & categorises him or her as ‘low risk’

Children above 10 years are also eligible for Jan Dhan Yojana account.
