Prickly heat, also known as miliaria rubra, is an itchy rash that appears as tiny, raised red spots on the skin and causes a stinging or prickling feeling. Prickly heat can occur anywhere on the body, but it normally occurs a few days after exposure to hot temperatures on the face, throat, back, chest, or thighs.

Prickly heat on the buttocks affects both babies and children, particularly in hot and humid weather. It happens because their sweat glands aren't completely grown, and they're always wearing diapers and nappies. Excessive sweating causes heat rash, which normally occurs in a hot, humid climate.

Perspiration allows it possible for dead skin cells and bacteria on the skin to obstruct sweat glands, creating a membrane that traps sweat underneath the skin, producing the distinctive bumps. The prickly or stinging feeling that occurs as the bumps burst and sweat is released is what gives this disease its name.

4 Home Remedies:

Yogurt:

Yogurt is known for having a calming and relaxing effect on the skin. Apply a thick layer of cold yoghurt to the affected areas and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash in cold water and rinse with a soft cloth. Often avoid rubbing sore skin. Yogurt contains natural antibacterial and antifungal properties that can help avoid acne breakouts and maintain a healthy complexion.

Rose Water:

Combine the following ingredients to make a concoction: 200 mL rose water, 4 tblsp sugar, 200 mL plain water Combine all ingredients and freeze in an ice tray. Cover four or five ice cubes at a time in a soft muslin sheet. Gently press the package against the prickly heat zones. Rosewater balances the pH of the skin and controls excess oil production.

Multani Mitti:

On the skin, multani mitti has a cooling effect. I've used this recipe on my young adolescent when she gets home from school, and it's not only very successful, but it also immediately soothes and cools her face.

Sandalwood:

This is a tried-and-true cure for prickly heat, and I suggest mixing it with full-fat, cold milk and applying it as a pack to the scalp. Rinse in ice spray. It is important to protect yourself from the sun's damaging rays. Sandalwood's natural oils aid in the removal of a sun tan.
